Bruschetta

Savor the crunch of toasted bread topped with fresh tomatoes, garlic, and fragrant basil for a perfect appetizer!

🍽️ 4 servings personer⏱️ 20 minitalian

Ingredients

  • 1 large rustic loaf, cut into 8 thick slices
  • 4 ripe tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 handful basil leaves
  • 1 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for brushing

How to make it

  1. Dice the tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a bowl. Finely chop the red onion and basil leaves, then stir them in with the red wine vinegar, 3 tbsp olive oil, salt and black pepper.
  2. Let the tomato mixture stand for 10 minutes so the juices gather and the onion softens slightly.
  3. Heat the oven to 220°C. Brush both sides of the bread slices with the olive oil for brushing and bake them for 6 to 8 minutes until crisp and lightly golden.
  4. While the bread is still hot, rub each slice firmly with the cut sides of the garlic cloves so the surface picks up the garlic aroma.
  5. Spoon the tomato mixture generously over the toast and serve immediately on a flat plate, with the topping mounded in the center of each slice and a little of the dressing visible at the edges.
