What is free, and what does Plus include?
Saving recipes, planning meals yourself, the shopping list, pantry and sharing are free. With an account, Zimmer can also suggest one meal plan a month. Plus includes more plans, saved meal plans and conversations with Zimmie. See the full comparison. The App Store shows the price and any trial available to you before you buy.
Is Zimmer available for Android?
The Zimmer app is for iPhone. There is no Android app yet. Email support@zimmerfood.com if you would like to hear when it is available.
How do I save my own recipes?
Paste a link, choose an image containing recipe text, or type the recipe yourself. Check the draft, make any corrections and choose where to save it. You can also bring recipes from RecipeKeeper or Mela using an export file. Read about importing recipes.
Can I save recipes from Instagram and TikTok?
A link lets Zimmer read the caption the service makes available. It does not include the video frames or audio. If you have a video file saved on your iPhone, you can select it in the app. Screenshots containing recipe text are another option. Always check the draft before saving.
Can Zimmer suggest a meal plan?
Yes. Choose the days and number of people, then set your preferences. Recipes can come from your own collection, Zimmer’s kitchen or the web. You review the suggestions and can swap dishes before adding the plan to your calendar. You can also plan the meals yourself.
Are ingredients added to the shopping list automatically?
When you turn on automatic shopping, your personal list gathers ingredients for today and up to two days ahead. You choose how many days to include. For a shared list, add ingredients from recipes when you need them. You can write your own items on either list. See the shopping list.
What is the pantry?
The pantry keeps track of what you have at home. Add items yourself, or scan a receipt, check the items and send them to the pantry. Enter an amount if you want to track it; otherwise, the item appears without one. Zimmer can take the pantry into account when you add ingredients to the shopping list.
Can we share a meal plan and shopping list?
Yes. Create a shared kitchen and choose what to share: calendar, shopping list, pantry, or recipes and books. Everyone needs their own account and can join with a code or link. Your personal books stay private unless you share them. Read about sharing a kitchen.
Where can I find dinner ideas?
Browse dishes from Zimmer’s kitchen in Explore and save them to your collection. Pick a dish you would like to cook and add it to a day in the calendar.
What does Zimmie help with?
Zimmie is Zimmer’s kitchen helper and is included with Plus. You can type or speak to it to find a dish, add items to the shopping list or open meal planning with your preferences ready. You decide which dishes to cook.
How does Zimmer help while I cook?
Follow the recipe one step at a time and open any tips included with it. Existing tips are free to read. With Plus, you can add tips to your own recipes, including imported ones. See cooking with Zimmer.
Where are my recipes and meal plans stored?
They are linked to your account, stored with our database provider in the EU and synced across your devices. Read more in the privacy policy.
